Interview Questions:

What was your biggest achievement at work?

You must be convinced that you indeed did have a substantial contribution to your work place in the past. If you do not believe you contributed to your work place and made big achievements you will find it hard to convince the interviewer that you are a worthy candidate.

To make an impression and sound convincing, try focusing on those occasions in which you felt you made a successful and significant contribution and that you felt content and an element of satisfaction from the progress of those tasks and projects that you were either involved in or were under your responsibility.

Example:

if during the first year in your previous job you felt you were involved, that your co-workers enjoyed your contribution and that you were complimented on your achievements - then focus on that period and describe it. If at a later stage you were less active and did not enjoy your job as much – then do not mention those periods. Describe the chosen period with enthusiasm, inspiration and with a sense of dutifulness.

When you enjoying talking about your self and your experiences, your ability to sound convincing in an interview increases.

Even if you feel that you did not enjoy your previous job and that you find it hard to talk about it in a positive and enthusiastic manner, try focusing on the positive elements. In every situation, as dire as it may be, there are always positive aspects and experiences you learn from. Focus on those experiences and highlight them during the interview.

As soon as you focus on the positive experiences your body language and tone of voice will convince the interviewer that you are an achiever!
